ACE Sunday Giveback: Soap Saves Lives Kit Building

Sunday, June 8 │ 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Colorado Convention Center

Make a meaningful impact and join our Soap Saves Lives Experience, where ACE volunteers can help assemble eco-friendly hygiene kits. Once completed, kits will be donated to two Denver Area organizations; Urban Peak and Dress for Success Denver. More information on each of these can be found below.

No registration is required. Look for signs by ACE Registration at the Convention Center at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

George Warren Fuller Awards are presented annually by the American Water Works Association to the sections’ respective selected members for their distinguished service to the water supply field in commemoration of the sound engineering skill, brilliant diplomatic talent, and constructive leadership that characterized George Warren Fuller’s life. Pre-registration, additional payment, and a ticket are required for entry.

The job fair is a fantastic opportunity to meet with thought leaders and professionals working in the water community. This fair will include Flash Resume Review and Interview with AWWA (3:30 – 5:00 p.m.). Bring your resume for review and practice your interviewing skills. Our partner, Water Equation, is providing professional headshots.

International Reception

The ACE International Reception is a light cocktail hour focused on networking and socializing with fellow water experts from around the world. We warmly invite any international participants at ACE to attend this event and meet with industry leaders in a relaxed, social setting.

Monday Keynote Address

The A.P. Black Award was established in 1967 in honor of Dr. A.P. Black to recognize an individual who has made outstanding research contributions to water science and water supply practices over their career. The 2025 awardee is Karl Linden, PhD., Environmental Engineering professor at University of Colorado-Boulder.

Dr. Linden’s research investigates advanced and innovative UV systems for inactivation of pathogens and degradation of emerging contaminants. He received the 2013 Pioneer Award in Disinfection and Public Health from WEF, was WateReuse Association’s 2014 WateReuse Person of the Year, received 2019 Water Research Foundation Dr. Pankaj Parekh Research Innovation Award and was named the 2020 Clarke Prize Laureate.

Join us on Monday to hear from Dr. Linden as he shares his presentation, Water Treatment at the Speed of UV Light.

AWWA is thrilled to welcome Kathryn Sorensen as this year’s Opening Keynote Speaker. Kathryn is the Director of Research at the Kyl Center for Water Policy at Arizona State University. She served for many years as Director of Phoenix Water Services as well as Director of the city of Mesa’s Water Resources Department.

Water Equation WE Race for Water 5K

Sculpture Park, Denver Performing Arts Center Complex

The annual WE Race for Water 5K marks the start of ACE25 in downtown Denver. Water Equation hosts the Race for Water 5K to support the Community Engineering Corps, a partnership between AWWA, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and Engineers Without Borders-USA. Snacks and swag will be provided.

You may add your 5K registration to your ACE registration when you register or, if you have already registered for ACE, you may email we@awwa.org to register for the 5K. We hope to see you out there!

Wrap Party
